Memorial Day Miracles

Hello Family!!!!

Another week has gone by here in the WA-TAC. We are down to our last couple weeks of the transfer and we are working hard trying to meet our goals that we set at the beginning of the transfer! I am not sure if this is my last transfer in Parkland or not but either way, I want to finish the work the Lord has called me to do here!

So this week was pretty dang good!  Our new investigator (the one i’ve been trying to locate for almost a year!) is still doing great! She came to church this week and is ready to be baptized. She has been ready for over a year! We were able to set a baptismal date with her for the 7th of June! That is next weekend! She is very excited. She wants her Elders from a year ago to come back and baptize her. The two elders are my good friends from back in Lacey so it has been fun to work with her all together! The best part of it all is that she knows the sisters that were recently baptized! They all had a good time at church together.

Sister Bishop and I had a miracle happen to us on Memorial day! It was our P day and the libraries were closed for the day and so we had some extra time to get things done. Of course we are always missionary minded but we were busy grocery shopping when we get a call from a Utah number! I about died! We reluctantly answered the phone to find out that it was a member who was staying with her 84 year old father here in our ward. She was frantically speaking as she told us that her dad was very sick and may die soon but has expressed the desire to be baptized! She told us that she was up here taking care of her dad for a few weeks and that she, herself,  had joined the church years ago and lives in West Valley Utah. Her dad always had a feeling that the church was true but never pursued it. She said that he knows it is true now and wants to be baptized immediately so that they can become an eternal family:) Sister Bishop and I were amazed! We, of course, told her that we can make it happen! That night we ran over to the house and met the WHOLE family! Some were members and some were non-members but everyone seemed to be excited about the whole thing. He is getting baptized on the 8th! 🙂 He is soooo darling. We love him so much! I had met him once before a while back when he came to church. He is so cute and it is just a miracle! I guess it is better late than never right??

We had a really fun P-day yesterday.  Sister Bishop and I went out to lunch at my FAVORITE place, Panera. It was yummy! Then, we hung out with the sisters in our zone for a bit, and then ended the day holding lots of puppies at Petco! It was a good day.

I love you all so so much! Have a good week!
Love,
Sister Cassell

  1. That Memorial Day miracle is my Grandpa, Wayne Jones, and he loves Sister Cassell and Sister Bishop. We met them yesterday at his baptism and I just want you (family and friends) to know that we are so grateful that you are sacrificing time with your daughter to have her help us strengthen our eternal family! God bless you all! Rebekah Pierce (Centerville, UT)

    • Rebekah- Thank you so much for the nice comment! We are so happy for you and your family! We are grateful that Katie could help your grandpa find eternal happiness through the gospel. We love her and love her investigators and others she serves through her love for them, which is so evident in her letters! Hopefully we will get to meet some (or all?) of them someday! Sincerely, Jim and Stacy Cassell 🙂
